The 3-Color Desert camouflage pattern was designed to replace the Six-Color Desert Battle Dress Uniform. Small production runs began in 1989, with very few uniforms reaching US troops before Operation Desert Storm. Full scale production ramped up in 1991, with 3-Color Desert or "coffee stain" being most commonly issued during Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
These are US military issued 3-Color Desert Battle Dress Uniform Field Shirts. They will range in age from the earliest production to latest. Some minor features such as the presence of adjustable waist buttons will vary. Fabric type will vary, may be cotton ripstop or plain cotton. These went through three uniform types throughout its history and all types will be included in this listing.
