Vintage West German Splinter Jackets

Vintage West German Splinter Jackets

An essential for many collectors, these West German Splittertarn jackets are incredible Cold War and Bundeswehr artifacts. With a cut informed by parachutist smocks of the period, these historical pieces are plenty functional and fashionable 70 years on.

These are rare items, and as a result, defects including but not limited to: holes, repairs, and missing features (like zippers) are present. Please look at each picture carefully, as each individual jacket has been sorted and photographed separately.

Trying to assemble a reasonably well-equipped fighting force is a difficult task, especially after total defeat. In 1955, West Germany began its rearmament, and the Bundeswehr was formed. In need of camouflage, Splitternmuster was revived and distributed to Army units as early as 1956. With production only lasting one year, the run of garments still saw a myriad of printing variations, a few of which are for sale here.

Approximate Selection condition:

1: Missing Zipper, small holes, at least one tear.

2:Small Holes, collar repaired with foreign material

3: A few pinholes, missing throat latch buttons

4: Tears and missing buttons
